About Me

Welcome to my website, I’m glad you found me! My hope is to give you an opportunity to know more about me and my therapeutic approach. Nothing will substitute for meeting in person but if you would like, I offer a free 20 minute consultation to talk on the phone and together decide if you wish to schedule a session. Finding the right counselor can sometimes take time. Please do not be afraid to “interview” potential counselors until you find the right one. Research tells us that the relationship between Client and Counselor is one of the most important predictors of successful therapy.

I am a licensed professional counselor living and working in Austin, Texas. I was raised in Houston, attended Texas A&M earning a BS degree in Elementary Education, married my high school sweetheart, worked as a teacher for 6 years, began having children (4 in total) and stayed home with them full time until 2005 when I returned to Texas State to earn a master’s degree in counseling, thus fulfilling a lifelong dream of mine.

I have dedicated my life to my own personal growth and spiritual development to enhance my role as partner, parent, daughter, sister, friend, counselor and human being. It is that journey which led me to become a counselor in hopes of assisting others find balance, harmony and joy in their lives. I offer a warm, supportive and nonjudgmental space where together, in partnership, we can explore the parts of yourself and/or your life which need attention and care. The foundation of my approach is Humanistic theories that include client centered and existential therapies. Some other approaches that fit my style are internal family systems, enneagram (I am a 4) and Buddhist wisdom. Some practical guidance comes from the 12 steps, love and logic parenting and a cognitive behavioral approach.
